Diane Edwardson, October 5, 2014.  How do you get to the end of the Red Car Property?  Just follow the trail of random trash.  Seriously - that office chair gets around.  Come on people - this parcel just got cleaned up a few weeks ago.  Who drops random large trash along the way?

Adelbert All-Weather Lounge: It's Back!

Adelbert All-Weather Lounge: Writer Calls It, "Feral Furniture"

While the Adelbert All-Weather Lounge has seen better days, it has moved around the northern end of the Red Car Property since November 2010.  It does make a great photo op.

Corralitas Red Car Property: LA Weekly Names It, "Best Potentially Haunted Hiking Trail"

LA Weekly named the Corralitas Red Car Property, Best Potentially Haunted Hiking Trail. 

Rather than ghosts of trolley riders past, you're more likely to encounter giant spiders, behemoth moths, wildlife skeletons, alien insects, freakish fungus, colorful snakes and Silver Lake's Stonehenge.

For the record, it's not a public trail; it's private property where people have trespassed for more than 5 decades.  The address in the Weekly is wrong; it should be 2400 Corralitas Drive.

Red Car Property: LAFD Red Tagged "Lot C" For Brush Clearance

Considering there were close to 60 vehicles parked on "Lot C" on Saturday morning, the instruction to clear the slopes of brush "forthwith" is definitely warranted.  Of course, this isn't the first time LAFD has Red Tagged this lot.

Unfortunately, LAFD Brush Inspectors have yet to Red Tag 5440-030-033 where the steep slopes lead up to Lake View  Ave from the meadow, as well as the canyon area, are in dire need of tree trimming, clearance and removal.   

Adelbert All-Weather Lounge Has A New Location, View & Decor

Red Car Property: Enjoy Berries At The Adelbert All-Weather Lounge

Earlier posts identified these berries as native Pacific Blackberries.  However, a berry connoisseur neighbor says these are Boysenberries, not blackberries.  

There are 188 species of berries listed on Calflora, including several native and non-native species that look just like this plant. So the ID is not definite yet.

Red Car Property: Blackberries Blooming*

*UPDATE 11-23-10: LAPD Senior Lead Officer Al Polehonki confirms this is a stolen car from the Rampart area in August. When the LAPD attempted to recover this stolen vehicle this morning, it was gone. So someone is still driving it around.
