Photos: Gary Vlahakis, May 15, 2012. Last Thursday, LAPD Senior Lead Officer Al Polehonki attempted to contact this individual to help get him into supportive housing. Clearly, the person would rather live in the wilds of the Red Car Property. (Click on photo to enlarge.)
Neighbors reported a second tent (between the historic viaduct footings and the last house on Adelbert) to Polehonki and CD13 on Friday.
One neighbor sums up what a lot of neighbors have been saying, "Why is it that the owners of this property rarely clear their brush and downed trees and seem to get away with it exposing all of us homeowners along the Red Car Property to brush fire, homeless encampments and dumping?"
*UPDATE: By the end of May, a neighbor who had previously hauled away the dumping in the Canyon, also hauled off the homeless debris left behind after LAPD SLO Polehonki made sure the homeless man had vacated the encampment. The homeless guy told Polehonki anything he left behind was trash. You know, if you're going to blatantly camp out, take your trash with you when you leave!
