Photo: Corralitas Neighbor, November 1, 2017. A couple of good looking, friendly Huskies came romping through the top of Corralitas Drive just before 10 AM today. Neighbors attempted to corral the dogs but they were having too much fun running free. Huskies are notorious escape artists.

If you find a lost dog, the best thing to do is to take it to LA City North Central Animal Shelter on Lacy Street. You can put the right of first refusal to adopt the dog, if the owner does not claim him.
The "pound" is the first place most people look for their lost dogs. They can also scan animals for microchips. If you've recently moved, be sure to update your pets' microchip info with the company it's registered with.
UPDATE: Dogs were found by their owner who lives in Elysian Valley via NextDoor.

Lake View Ave: Found Dog Taken North Central Animal Shelter On Lacy Street
This little guy was wandering around on Lake View Ave this morning, 9-14-14. He has a bite wound on his neck and seems to have been on the loose for a little while - he's pretty dirty and scrawny. He's also a total sweetheart and was super excited about human contact once he stopped being terrified.
Thanks to Amy & Russel for taking care of this little dog. Taking him to the pound is the right thing to do. It is the first place people look for their dogs when they are lost. Be sure you microchip your pets - even if you think they won't get lost - and be sure your contact info is up to date. It is one of the best ways to reunite lost dogs with their owners.
He was taken to North Central Animal Shelter on Lacy Street. He is not microchipped. They said that they'll clean him up and that dogs that size/breed usually get adopted soon after the 4-day holding window.
His impound # at the North Central Animal Shelter is 1507830.

Red Car Property: Lost Dog, Missing For A Month, Seen In Neighborhood
I may have seen Zelda on the morning of July 4, with a family near Rose Scharlin Co-op Nursery School. She may have been taken in by another family. She is light brown and white, very friendly wants to play with other dogs.
I called Zelda's owner, when the email was forwarded to me today. The owner said there have been several sightings in our neighborhood, including near Riverside & Fletcher. They live very nearby in Elysian Valley. Please contact the owner directly if you see her.

Allesandro & Loma Vista: Lost Dog

Editor's note: This morning, I saw a post on The Eastsider for a found puppy that looked a lot like Bernice. Since I'd seen the above poster all over the Red Car Neighborhood, I contacted Amanda. Sadly, it was not Bernice. Copy from the lost dog poster is reprinted with Amanda's permission.
