My dog has been going nuts in the morning, giving his guard dog bark at some intruder down below our yard. This morning it sounded like something large was down in the lower part of the yard.
Sure enough, just after 9 AM as we walked up Corralitas, we encountered a big healthy male coyote on the 2 Freeway side of the fence on Corralitas. He came under the fence, darted around the corner & ducked down the first driveway. He was hoping we'd pass by. By then I had my camera out.

The coyote took back off down around the corner.
A Corralitas neighbor said he had a young confused male coyote in his yard, on the other end of the street this morning too.
Keep your small animals inside. Do not leave any food outside. If you feed your pets outside, pick up the bowls as soon as they are through eating. KEEP YOUR TRASHCANS CLOSED. Call the City or use the City's new 311 app & get the trashcan repaired if it is damaged or broken. The smell of food attracts coyotes, rats, raccoons, skunks & opossums.
You can hear the coyotes howling nightly over in the Semi Tropic Spiritualists' Tract (the other side of the 2 Freeway).
