After a couple of hours, so did Fred the Cat, who gave up on the 4" long (snout to vent) lizard. It was quite substantial & had already lost its tail. It was only playing dead. It moved over to the corner of the doorway (probably waiting to come inside the house). Later it spent the entire afternoon & following day clinging to the side of the porch about 7' off the ground & completely out of reach of Fred.
