Historic Fletcher Viaduct: Circa 1904*

I've been talking about the Pacific Electric Fletcher Viaduct a lot lately, so thought it was a good time to run one of the first photos of the historic viaduct.  It was over 453' long and originally, 41' high.

The viaduct's center section was replaced with steel in 1927 and was then over 60' high, allowing for the paving of Fletcher Drive.  The last day of service on the Glendale Line was June 19, 1955.  The viaduct was not dismantled until 1959.

The viaduct footings were declared a Los Angeles City Historic Cultural Monument in 2003.
