2 Freeway: Really Big Red Tail Hawk

Photo: Diane Edwardson, April 18, 2013.  The female of the nesting pair of Red Tailed Hawks (at Allesandro & Rosebud) is exceptionally large.  Several of last year's brood were also really big.  They are particularly eye-catching when they take off & land from the trees in the 2 Freeway parkway (between Corralitas Drive & Allesandro Street).  Shot from Corralitas Drive.
