The Metrolink maintenance yard is about 400 feet from homes Elysian Valley. It's even closer to the Cypress Park Recreation Center, where kids play on outdoor fields, across San Fernando from the rail yard, where diesel locomotives idle for hours at a time.
A coalition of Elysian Valley and Cypress Park neighbors are asking Metrolink to reduce their noise and air pollution. Metrolink representatives said they don't get many complaints. Perhaps that's because people don't know who to complain to. Attend tomorrow's meeting with Metrolink, AQMD and elected officials and tell them to reduce their emissions and limit the noise:
