
According to the Los Angeles Almanac, the 1977-78 El Nino dumped 33.44" of rain on Los Angeles. That's more than 18" above average rainfall.
I intended to shoot photos to match these terrific photos by Clarence Inman, shared with us by his son, Bob Inman. I just did not want to drive anywhere I didn't have to go in the rain this week. Judging by the high water lines on the river this week, it looks like the river was at similarly high levels.
