Neighbors, concerned about the Red Tailed Hawk nest at the corner of Allesandro & Rosebud on the parkway of 2 Freeway, contacted CalTrans, sending links to this blog for photos and nest location. (Sunday at 7:30 AM, I had informed the CalTrans crew doing brush clearance about the nest, too.)
Yesterday, CalTrans responded to follow up calls from Conrado Terrazas, staff member of Assemblymember Gil Cedillo. Patrick Chandler, the CalTrans liaison, said the North Region Manager of CalTrans informed all their tree and brush clearance crews to leave the tree and nest alone. Chandler added that if someone touches the tree, it is not CalTrans.

We're following the Red Tailed Hawk nest at the corner of Allesandro & Rosebud, 100' from the controversial 16-lot subdivision in the Semi Tropic Spiritualists' Tract.
