Red Car Canyon: Drought Stricken Yuccas
Photo: Jonathan Vandiveer, March 14, 2016. Drought stricken yuccas, rotted from the base of the trunks, got top heavy once the rains hit, and inevitably toppled over. If you drag it over to the side of the trail where the ground is less compacted (from vehicles driving through the park like setting) so the new growth can take root in the leaf litter. We should see a few more grow out of this old yucca.
