Photo: Diane Edwardson, October 7, 2014. The big Red Tailed Hawk focused on a squirrel on the Red Car Property slope, a couple hundred feet away from the the telephone pole at the Corralitas cul-de-sac. (Click on photo to enlarge.)
That squirrel got away. However, for the next week, expect to see the big Red Tailed Hawk hunting from telephone poles around the Corralitas end of the Red Car Property. Brush clearance finally got done yesterday. Brush clearance always brings the Red Tails out because there is less cover for prey - particularly their favorite meal - squirrels (who get caught running between California Black Walnut Trees).
