Red Car Canyon: Owls Have Been Busy

Photo: Diane Edwardson, June 8, 2014.  Every morning there seems to be another pile of owl pellet below a tree in Red Car Canyon near the junction of Riverside Place.  (Click on photo to enlarge.)  

The arrows point to piles of fur &  other animal parts, barfed up by what is likely a Great Horned Owl, known to hang out in trees above the trail.  The squirrels in the canyon  have been very quiet this year.
