Red Car Property: Grass Is Greener At The Historic Viaduct Footings

Photo: Diane Edwardson, March 30, 2013.  Steep slopes limit the harsh sun on the north end of the Red Car Property, so the grass is greener, non-native, invasive Wild Radish is blooming and the California Black Walnuts are thriving above the historic landmark viaduct footings.  (Click on photo to enlarge.)

A month ago, native Miner's Lettuce owned this hillside.  The non-native weeds have outgrown the early native flowers.
