Photo: Diane Edwardson, February 26, 2012, 3:51 PM. Saturday morning (Feb 25), I heard both hawks calling loudly and caught site of the pair mating high in one of their favorite Eucalyptus trees on the Corralitas Drive side of the 2 Freeway. I did not get the camera up in time.
I also saw the hawks working on the nest Saturday. Both times the hawk flew past the log cabins on Corralitas, heading toward the nest at Allesandro & Rosebud. Once, the hawk carried a smaller Eucalyptus branch with leaves in its beak; later, carrying a large 3' branch in its talons.
