The heavy steel cover for the City storm drain on the Corralitas end of the Red Car Property has been shifted over about 3 - 4 inches; enough for a small child or dog to catch a leg. A Chihuahua could easily fall completely into the void. (Click on photo to enlarge.)Thanks to a regular reader for pointing out the potentially dangerous situation. The steel cover has never been completely over the hole. After brush clearance a few months ago, it was shifted further off the hole.
*UPDATE July 21, 2011: After this blog post was sent to City Council District 13 last week, the City secured the manhole cover this morning.
