The past couple years, Black Walnuts were stripped from the trees by the squirrel overpopulation. You could barely find any walnuts on the ground. Squirrels were even getting obese. This year, judging by the plethora of walnuts on the ground and still on the trees, hawks, owls and other predators have been quite successful in controlling the squirrel population.
