LA River: Matilija Poppy

Hibbs, April 23, 2011.  Matilija Poppies rank 4.2 on the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) list as fairly endangered in California.  The CNPS has a ranking system for rare plants, citing specific sections in CEQA, if listed plants are found on a property undergoing environmental review.  (Click on photo to enlarge.)
