Bees were not happy when two big eucalyptus trees went down on their hive at Russel & Amy's house last weekend. Read about their adventures in beehive rescue:

Let this be a reminder to everyone to take a good look at your trees. More big El Nino rains are forecast for the second week of February. Inspect your trees, particularly eucalyptus trees. Many are currently in bloom. The tree branches may need trimming back so the rain doesn't weigh them down further.
Additionally, hawks like to nest in the tops of area trees, so inspect your trees carefully before hiring a licensed tree trimmer to thin the branches.
