Viaduct Footings: Dead Eucalyptus Trees Gone

Photo: Diane Edwardson, October 26, 2014.  All of the dead Eucalyptus near the historic viaduct footings were cut down last month, creating a rather large wasteland between Riverside Drive & Adelbert.  (Click on photos to enlarge.)  

Over the past year and a half,  more than a dozen Eucalyptus trees including some very large ones, died rapidly on this northern part of the property.  It has really changed the ecosystem on this part of the property.  It's a lot hotter & drier here than ever before.
