Photo: Antonio F. Futterer, Holyland Exhibition, 1960. Corner of Riverside Drive & Fletcher Drive from atop the old Red Car Viaduct Footings during grading for the 5 Freeway. The gas stations were still art deco and Currie's Ice Cream Shop was on the left. (Click on photos to enlarge.)
Photo: Diane Edwardson, July 15, 2013. Riverside & Fletcher shot from atop the now City of Los Angeles cultural historic landmark Pacific Electric Red Car Viaduct Footings (declared in 2003). Today, the gas stations are none too scenic. Curries is now HOME Restaurant and Rick's Burgers is in the place of what was a liquor store in 1960.
