Photo: Diane Edwardson, April 26, 2013. Last week, CalTrans replaced the 40' section of fence adjacent to Corralitas Walk that their tree trimmers badly damaged, almost a year ago. (Click on photos to enlarge.)
Since last June, various neighbors tried to get CalTrans to fix the fence and pick up the large pile of debris and trash bags dumped on the freeway side of the fence. When we posted the daytime opossum encounter (with the gaping hole in the fence it ran through), one of the moms from that part of Corralitas Drive took action. She contacted CalTrans public affairs, who submitted her request to the maintenance division. (We suspect the public affairs director is the only reason they fixed the fence since we'd made the request several times last year. At some point, you just give up.)
