Corralitas Drive: Red Tailed Hawks Mating

Photo: Diane Edwardson, February 26, 2012, 3:46PM.  Several Corralitas neighbors reported seeing the Red Tailed Hawks mating on Sunday.  One family witnessed the pair mating atop the huge pine tree at 2600 Corralitas Drive, Sunday afternoon.  (Click on photos to enlarge.)

I also saw the hawks working on the nest Saturday.  Both times the hawk flew past the log cabins on Corralitas, heading toward the nest at Allesandro & Rosebud.  Once, the hawk carried a smaller Eucalyptus branch with leaves in its beak; later, carrying a large 3' branch in its talons.
