Lake Corralitas: Gopher Tunnel Drains Kept Water Levels Down

Photo: Diane Edwardson, December 23, 2010. Compare to photos from Tuesday and Wednesday. (Click on photo to enlarge.)

Considering the Mt. Washington Weather Station recorded 10" of rain since December 17, the gophers did a great job draining the water out of the low point of Lake Corralitas. However, most of the meadow seems to be under a couple of inches of water, hidden by the grass. I still haven't trudged through the muck in Red Car Canyon Lake. Wear your wellies!
