Above Red Car Canyon: "Laura Palmer's Owl" Video

A few months ago, Bates shot some amazing footage of a Great Horned Owl hanging around his yard, above Red Car Canyon.  In the video, mockingbirds dive bomb the owl. 

The owls are not what they seem....

All manner of birds harass Great Horned Owls, as they are the apex predator in the bird world.  Their feathers are so specialized, they fly silently through the dark to catch their prey, which they see quite with those large eyes.
