I caught up with the patrol car deep in the canyon when the officer stopped to chat with a neighbor walking her dog. By the time I got there several neighbors with dogs had gathered around, with others looking on from nearby balconies.
Nothing was wrong. The officer just tries to drive through when he can to keep an eye out for problems. He said they recently chased off a group of teenagers who were sitting in the canyon drinking beer & smoking pot. The neighbors told the officer about the patterns we'd seen in the neighborhood with recent waves of graffiti vandals, car break-ins & homeless individuals camping on the Red Car Property. We thanked him for driving through, and welcomed him to continue doing so.
