Red Car Property: Reclaiming Signs From Graffiti Vandals Takes Elbow Grease

Photo: Red Car Property Neighbor, June 7, 2013.  A neighbor cleaned graffiti off the neighborhood watch sign posted on the Red Car Property near the Silver Lake Ave public staircase.

The neighbor used "Goof-off" with an abrasive sponge, wearing heavy gloves & used scraper to remove the stickers.   The neighbor wrote in an email,  "I'm going to be on my local signs like flies on s**t now, it got way outa hand. Broken window syndrome.  It took me an hour to get every sign and post in my vicinity. Hopefully if I'm more frequent and quicker it'll start to happen less, maybe not. Clearly no one else is going to do it."

One neighbor's action reminds all of us we need to take responsibility for keeping our neighborhood safe and clean.  Kudos to the Red Car Neighbor (who prefers to remain anonymous).
