Photo: Jonathan Vandiveer, September 6, 2012. Vandiveer said the City picked up all the piles of Arundo yesterday. We are thrilled to see the Arundo eradicated. It is non-native, invasive and highly combustible. When it burns, the gases build up inside the hollow reed chambers, where they explode, shattering the reed (it's bamboo-like), spreading fire in all directions.
