As if to punctuate why the signs were necessary, a group of bicyclists sped past, rudely shouting, "It's called a bike path!" to the group of Elysian Valley Neighborhood Council and Elysian Valley Neighborhood Watch members. The Elysian Valley groups worked with O'Farrell (while he was a CD13 deputy) to create the signs because pedestrians felt they were being pushed off the path that was meant for both bikes and pedestrians.
