Red Car Property: Brush Clearance Came Early This Year

Most years, I spend the month of June bugging CD13 to get the Red Car Property cited and cleared of brush before the 4th of July. This year, I was too preoccupied with the Menlo Property to deal with brush clearance. However, several neighbors were complaining to the Fire Department about the Red Car Property.

Considering the City's budget shortfall, I figured we'd be lucky if the City came out with a backhoe and roto-tiller before the 4th of July. To my surprise, the City started brush clearance on the 4th of June. The following week, contractors were doing the brush clearance on the slopes. Last year, it took multiple citations from the LAFD before the owner had the brush cleared in September.

Over the next few days, we'll look at what was left behind by both the City and private brush clearance contractors. Regular readers (and walkers of the Red Car Property) won't be surprised at what we find.
