Rattlesnake Park: Is This Really A Good Place For A Pot Clinic?

Photo: Diane Edwardson, December 22, 2009. Rattlesnake Park is on the southeast side of the LA River on Fletcher Drive. (Click on photo to enlarge.)

It is an appropriate place for a pot clinic, according to a City Planning map of areas where pot dispensaries could be located under a proposal that would keep them 500' from parks, schools, child care facilities, religious institutions, and residentially zoned areas. You could put a pot dispensary right next door to Rattlesnake Park entrance to the LA River.

Under City Planning's esoteric definitions, they do not recognize any park that is not a City-owned park, as a park. Rattlesnake Park is a Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy park.

Read more about the proposal & today's City Planning meeting on The Eastsider LA.

Community Residents' Association for Parks has not evaluated the City's medical marijuana dispensary proposal. Thus we are only pointing out the absurdity of this location under this proposal.
