Viaduct Footings: Gulf Fritillary

Photo: Diane Edwardson, March 28, 2015.  Gulf Fritillaries are pretty common butterflies and can be seen all over the Red Car Property, but most often around and above the historic viaduct footings.  (Click on photos to enlarge.)

From above, they are a bright orange mid-sized butterfly with black-lined silver spots on their wings.  They are usually in constant motion, so it's not easy to get a clear shot of one.
